Back in September 2013, following a lot of encouragement from my husband, I enrolled in the Algonquin College 'Photography Techniques' programme.  Initially I joined to learn more about my camera.  I was fed up not knowing what this button did, or what happened when I used this button.  Perhaps if I read the manual, but, honestly, who reads a manual?

Little did I know what would happen once I started.  The first week, I turned up with my small camera, and I realized that size did matter after all.  I purchased a CANON Rebel and then the fun truly began.

Now fast forward almost four years, and I have completed the programme.  Learning the essentials from basic photography, to composition, lighting etc, but also the editing,  Photoshop, colour correction and multi-media.   With a hand on my heart, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

And now, I'm attempting to get my small business out there.  I'm still learning, and still wanting to improve, but I'm on the right path.  My first photograph for basic photography, was a tree during Fall, and now I've just completed my Portfolio, which I would like to share with you.

I couldn't have done this without the patience and loving encouragement from my husband.  When I doubted myself, he was there to reassure and still is.  I also have to thank my wonderful patient daughters too.  They were and still are my inspiration for this journey.  I wanted to learn how to capture their beauty, their laughter, their twinkles in their eyes, and hopefully in years to come, they will come to see what I see every minute of the day!  Also, a shout out to the teachers and mentoring I have received.  I'll be the first to admit, I've a long way to go, but I'm going to enjoy getting there.

So below, is my Portfolio, entitled 'F Words'.  I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them.
